Bass is the first of the Super Wily Numbers, a series of Robot Masters with combat capabilities far beyond what Wily had produced before, and the next step up from the Rock Killers. Bass is the match of Rock, and with his unique Fortenium core, he has the strongest output of power of any Robot Master to date. Introduced to Rock during the Mad Grinder attack on Megatropolis, Bass posed as a friend, going so far as to pretend to be injured by Shade Man; Rock, with his caring nature, took Bass to Dr. Light's lab to be repaired. There Bass stole the plans for the super adapter, allowing him to fuse with his companion robot, Treble. Since that time, Bass has been bitter rivals with Rock, unable to understand why Rock, who is supposed to be weaker, manages to defeat him. Bass has proven to be a thorn in the side of his creator, completely independent, and difficult to control. Bass does as he sees fit, letting no one stand in his way, and what he sees fit is to battle any robot that claims to be as strong or stronger than he is. Aggressive and unpredictable, the arrival of Bass usually heralds massive property damage.
Recent History
- Prior to the Innerpeace event, Bass made a backup copy of himself. During Innerpeace, Bass was transformed into a humanoid by Neo Arcadia. Upon returning to the Hunters, the humanoid Bass, feeling that he had diverged significantly from who he was, took the name Fortissimo, and awakened his backup copy to resume duties among the Hunters. Fortissimo went wandering to try to find out who he had now become.
